We’re looking for a detail-oriented person who has superior design skills and experience. An innovative, outside-the-box mindset is highly valued. With projects ranging in scope from small push carts to large kiosks, designers at The Carriage Works must be equipped to manage multiple requirements and deadlines.

Objectives of this role

• Create unique solutions based on client design intent and preferences
• Adapt and translate architectural work to modular and/or pre-fabricated construction

Responsibilities

• Communicate design concepts and articulate to a wide range of relevant stakeholders – including, engineers, architects, and laymen.
• Generate all schedules including finish materials, electrical, and plumbing, and other as needed
• Collaborate closely with sales and operations to ensure designs meet various criteria including budget, lead time, and buildability

Required skills and qualifications

• Portfolio of high-quality professional work and project samples
• Familiarity with the techniques, tools, and technologies necessary for design work; including AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite, 3DSMax a plus
• Ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and produce work within deadlines

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Background in architecture – no licensure required
• Two or more years of experience in a design role
• Knowledge of building code, ADA standards, and general health department requirements
• Familiarity with various building and finish materials
