Earlier this month, The Carriage Works sent Account Executive, Kristin Sayles, down to sunny Orlando, Florida to connect with Ben & Jerry’s past, present and future franchisees. As a preferred kiosk vendor, Kristin had the wonderful opportunity to attend Ben & Jerry’s Global Franchise meeting and gain a deeper understanding of the business. She learned about the three aspects of Ben & Jerry’s company mission: the products, the economics, and their social involvement.
Like The Carriage Works, Ben & Jerry’s tries to connect with their local community. Kristin participated with Ben & Jerry’s franchise owners and staff in the Hands on Orlando STEM Park Project benefitting inner-city youth. For an entire day, Kristin worked alongside Ben & Jerry’s staff members painting signs, cleaning trails, picking up trash and even pulling vines out of trees like Tarzan! Volunteers also had a glamorous time finding gigantic spiders — ick! They all enjoyed a fabulous boxed lunch and near the end of the day, local students were bussed to the park and everyone was treated to a little Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to celebrate their hard work.
In addition to working hands-on with the local community, Kristin had the privileged opportunity to learn about Ben & Jerry’s new ice cream flavors and their 420 rollout dessert. Unfortunately, she can’t share the details of what she learned but she did tell us – and all of you – to be sure and visit your local Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops on these days: National Cereal Day on March 7th, Free Cone Day on April 4th, and Annual Limited Dessert Day on April 20th.
Throughout the course of The Carriage Works’ partnership with Ben & Jerry’s, TCW has proudly delivered kiosks to locations from coast to coast including: Potomac Mills, Virginia; Nyack, New York; Escondido, California; and Union Station, Los Angeles. The Carriage Works is excited to grow our relationship and to continue building kiosks for the Ben & Jerry’s family.
